2nd Course Recognized in CDEV Program

The CDEV2240 Observing & Assessing course developed and taught by Peggy Rogers received QM Certification in June 2013.  This is the second QM-Certified Course in the CDEV program.  Peggy is also a Certified Peer Reviewer and this spring served on her first review as a team member.

QM Recognized Courses – May 2013

The following courses received QM Course Recognition in May 2013:

BIOL1004 Intro to Anatomy & Physiology

PLSC1102 American Government

HLTH1106 Medical Terminology
Course Developers/ Faculty:  Dorinda Sorvig and Elizabeth McMahon

This is Aliza’s second course to receive recognition and Tina’s first. Both Tina and Aliza are QM Certified Peer Reviewers who have served on course review teams for other colleges.

Dorinda and Beth co-created the Medical Terminology course that received QM certification but they teach separate sections of the course.  Dorinda and Beth are both QM Certified Master Reviewers and have chaired review teams for other colleges.

CDEV 1105 – First Course From Early Childhood Program Recognized

Congratulations, Peggy!

Peggy Roger’s CDEV1105 Development and Guidance course recently received QM Course Recognition.  The Early Childhood Education program is an entirely online program and this is the first of several courses that are undergoing review.

QM Implementation Plan Approved

Implementation Plan SealThe QM Implementation Plan submitted by Northland Community and Technical College was approved by the Quality Matters Academic Advisory Council in April 2013.

The main beneficiaries of QM are the online students who take a course that was designed to meet QM standards.  A QM Certified course provides the online student with assurance that the course has been planned, developed, and designed with all components to make the learning experience a success.   A list of Northland courses that have received the QM certification seal can be found here.

Congratulations to Sherry Lindquist for having a second online course recognized by Quality Matters. Sherry’s ENGL0085 Reading & Writing II course received QM Recognition in February.
